The Georgie Awards have celebrated excellence in residential construction for over 30 years. Recognized as B.C.’s premier housing awards program, award winners continue to raise the bar for residential construction projects across the province.
Each year, the Georgie Awards gala embraces a new creative concept that adds excitement, personality, and a memorable touch on an already spectacular evening. Over the years, the Georgie Awards have whisked guests into the whimsical worlds of Dr. Seuss, Willy Wonka, the Wizard of Oz, and even a life-sized game of Monopoly.

The History of the Georgie Awards
Founded in 1992 by industry professionals with the Canadian Home Builders’ Association, the Georgie Awards were created to honour excellence and provide meaningful value to B.C.’s residential construction industry and communities.
Initially open to all builders, renovators, and developers across the province, the program was refined in 2001 to recognize CHBA BC members exclusively, highlighting the companies driving excellence, innovation, and distinction in B.C.’s residential construction industry.
Honouring B.C.’s Best Since 1992
For over 30 years, the Georgie Awards have celebrated excellence in B.C.’s residential construction industry, evolving to recognize innovation, craftsmanship, and the companies shaping the province’s communities.
Over the years, Georgie Awards categories, criteria, price points, and square footage requirements have evolved to reflect changes in the housing market. Growing consumer and industry demand for energy-efficient homes and renovations has led to the inclusion of energy efficiency as a criterion in most categories, along with the creation of dedicated categories to recognize this innovation.
As the housing market continues to evolve, categories and criteria are updated to stay relevant and celebrate excellence. Currently the Georgie Awards recognize excellence in six categories: New Construction, Renovation, Interior & Exterior Design, Sales & Marketing, Special Achievements, and the Grand Georgie Awards.
